How To Set Up Your Computer to Avoid Low Back Pain

Working at a computer for long periods of time causes strain to our bodies, especially our spine, and results in many nerve system problems. Here are some practical tips that can reduce some of the spinal stress and avoid Low Back Pain.

  1. Set your chair height so that your forearms are at a right angle to the upper arm and your wrist is straight.
  2. Adjust the backrest of your chair to support your lumbar spine.
  3. knees should be level or slightly higher than your hips, so you may have to adjust your seat tilt.
  4. eye level should be at the top or within the top half of your screen. Many people have their screen height too low, so grab some old telephone books and prop yours up if you need to.
  5. The distance from your eye to the top of your screen should be 18-24 inches. Don’t sit too close and don’t sit too far away.
  6. Have regular spinal check ups At EliteCare Chiropractic. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.
