What to Expect?

What will my first visit to the Chiropractor be like?

This seems to be the question on everyone mind.  It’s also a very good question if you’ve never been to see a Chiropractor before.

If chiropractic is new to you, you probably have some questions about what happens in a Chiropractic office.  Here is what to expect on your first visit to Elite Care Chiropractic:

Consultation:

When you first walk my the office, you will be greeted by my friendly staff.  They will give you a short intake form to fill out which will provide the me with information I will need for the consultation.

At the initial consultation, I will sit down with you and briefly explain Chiropractic and how it can benefit your health condition.  Then you will tell me everything I need to about your condition.  I will ask you questions such as “when did the pain begin?”, “how often do you get the pain?”, “Describe how it feels?” All the questions will be geared towards getting a better understanding of your condition.  After the consultation, I will have a better idea if I can help you or not.  If I can help you then we will proceed to the examination.

Examination:

If the consultation has lead me to believe that I can help you then I will perform an examination.  During the examination I will perform specific tests to pinpoint the exact cause of your pain.   These tests include a computerized spinal analysis, postural analysis and range of motion test.

The computerized spinal analysis is done using  state of the art scanner know as the Subluxation Station.  The Subluxation Station is used to detect exact areas of problem in the spine.

X-Rays:

The next step is to take x-rays of your spine.  X-rays will give me a better understanding of whats going on inside your body.  X-rays may not be necessary for everyone.  Once I have completed the consultation and examination,  I will determine whether your need x-rays or not.

Your first visit is almost done.  The next step is to schedule you for a Report of Findings appointment.  During the Report of Findings visit, I will answer four questions for you:

1) Whats going on with you?

2) If I can help you?

3) How long will it take?

4) How much will it cost?

The reality is that we are all created differently.  Therefore, the answers to these four questions will be different for each person.  In my office, I structure a specific care plan for each individual based on my findings from the first visit.
